IMPORTING DATA

What does Import mean?

Import in UTT refers to importing data from an existing file to a new file.

When is it useful ?

It is useful specially when you want to migrate from an existing working file to a newer file.

For Example: Suppose you have all your data in UTT 4.1 file and a better version UTT 4.2 is released. Earlier you had to copy all your data, page by  page from UTT 4.1 to UTT 4.2 which could be confusing and time taking. But now you can migrate from UTT 4.1 to UTT 4.2 with just a few clicks. Isn't it amazing?

How does it work ?

You simply need to open only the newer file to which you want to copy all previous data. In this case open UTT 4.2 which is a newer file. You will find the import button in the Home page itself.

On hitting the import button an "ALERT" message will flash on screen.

Once you hit the "OK" button another message will pop up on screen making you aware that in the next step you'll have to browse and open the existing file from where you want to copy your data.

As soon as you open your file it will automatically copy your data from the old file to the new file. You can visualize the process as there will be lots of activities on screen.

When done you will get a confirmation message on screen with the summary of data copied.

And you have successfully imported data from your existing file to a newer file.

NOTE: It is highly recommended that you go through all the sheets just to ensure that the data copied is as it should  be.

This will again prompt you to key in an authentication code. The authentication code is just another security level to prevent actidental data loss. Key in the authentication code and it will navigate you to the basic input sheet. STEP 4: Fill in the details as desired in the BASIC INPUT  sheet and click on the next button. STEP 5: The next sheet will ask you about the Teacher Details. Just fill the details as below and click on next. STEP 6: The next sheet will ask you about the Class and section details. Fill in
